Bumper Bikes and Blues
Plymouth, MI

Sure was a beautiful afternoon for a festival. Not too hot or too cool, just right said Poo.

Band was not too bad, but I am sure they were not playing blue. They were too cute to be a blues band anyway

But before the festival,
there was McKenna’s ball game on Saturday

It is a kids team, so I am not going to list win/losses.

A few pictures that David dug out that I thought I should add

David and Halle Jo
They looks sweet, huh??
David’s brother and mom
David and Wylie K
David did not like this picture, but I think that it is one of my favorites

Independence Day 2009

We started the day early with the Good Morning USA parade in downtown Plymouth. Next stop was the Old Fashioned picnic at Mc Clumpha park for 5 cent hot dogs and ice cream, Guernsey no less. We picked up McKenna and headed for the Pie Eating contest sponsored by Traverse Pie Co. Of course it was a cherry pie, my favorite.

Saturday was McKenna’s 1st baseball game. They won 15-1!! I took my first round of game photos that will later be turned into some cd’s for the parents. David worked Saturday night so the 4 of us watched movies all night and also got in one game of Dogopoly! We all lost miserably to McKenna who was very pleased with herself. Great summer weather the whole weekend, so I drank iced tea by the pitcherfull.

Sunday was even better. Everyone rose late and I got a few hours to myself to work on my (2nd pair of) socks. I’ve got the construction thing down now, so I am confident that this time I will actually have something I can wear. I am trying to get these done this week, because McKenna is chomping at the bit to get me to make her a pair. I am delighted for the request of course!!! I have accepted, and am hoping to get her to the store with me to pick out something she fancies for her tootsies.

Sunday was also a great day to paint the girls toes. Great painting circle.

We are all pretty now!

Fathers Day Weekend 2009

After lunch, we went out for a Sunday drive and found more wonderful farms and abandonded barns to explore. Finished the day with a nice long nap, a cookout and some fishing til sunset.

We started out the day by picking strawberries and having brunch with three of my daughters and Wylie Kay. Really to be honest, I just posed for this picture and bought four beautiful quarts of berries, to be eaten later on vanilla ice cream and biscuits. Great way to lose a few pounds, eh?

Yes, Miss McKenna got her face painted at the Howell Balloon Fest this year! The woman who did the face painting thought she was so pretty that she asked her if she could use her as a model for her website. Very cool! She loved it.
